Award for ANSMANN: Winner of the Industry 4.0 Award 2025
ANSMANN AG was named winner of the Allianz Industry 4.0 Award 2025. The prize was awarded for our AI-supported quality assurance in battery pack production, which uses automatic image processing to ensure maximum safety and process stability.

Great success for ANSMANN AG: Our company was named winner in the electrical engineering sector at the Allianz Industry 4.0 Award Baden-Württemberg 2025. The prize was awarded for our innovative solution "Quality assurance through AI image processing in battery pack production" - another milestone on our path to intelligent, safe and highly automated production.
Automated quality assurance: how AI is making our production safer
In battery pack production, we rely on the Automated Visual Inspection System S70 from INSPEKTO. This AI-supported image processing system checks the correct placement of battery cells in cell holders - a critical step in the production process.
An employee manually places the individual cells in plastic housings (cell holders). The correct polarity is crucial here. If a cell is inserted the wrong way round, there is a risk of short circuits during the subsequent welding process - and, in the worst case, fires. This would not only result in significant material damage, but also pose considerable health risks for our employees.
AI takes on a central function here:
- Detects incorrectly inserted cells in real time
- Marks the affected positions directly
- Prevents safety-critical faulty processes
- Can be quickly and easily programmed for new battery types
The result: significantly higher process reliability, fewer rejects and a stable, digitalized production process.
Confirmation of our level of digitalization - award from the Industry 4.0 Alliance
The award ceremony took place as part of the "STARTUP THE FUTURE" anniversary event at the SpardaWelt Event Center in Stuttgart. Minister of Economic Affairs Dr Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut praised the award winners for their high level of digitalization and innovative strength. A total of 28 companies were honored in the "Winner" category, in addition to the four "Excellence" award winners.
With over 140 participants from business and science, the event offered exciting insights into future topics such as Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, robotics and the vision of Industry 2040.
