ANSMANN presents new GRAVELEC system

GRAVELEC describes an electrically assisted gravel bike.

The smart and lightweight system for gravel and city bikes

System & drive components specialist ANSMANN is presenting its new GRAVELEC system to mark its 30th anniversary. As the name suggests, the smart yet lightweight system is primarily intended for gravel and city bikes.

GRAVELEC describes an electrically assisted gravel bike. Fully protected and registered as a trademark, the term GRAVELEC is composed of the two words GRAV (EL) -Bike and (PED) ELEC. Customers who install the system can exclusively use the name to market their bikes.

The in-house development team has succeeded in reducing the system, consisting of the 40 Nm motor and the fully integrated 252 Wh battery, to just 4 kilograms of total weight. The range of this system is up to 70 km, and the battery is fully charged in around 3 hours. Larger battery expansion stages of up to 500 Wh are currently under development and will be available from 2022.

The GRAVELEC system is modular, meaning that all displays and motors in the system can be easily interchanged via robust connectors. This allows the customer to easily switch to a motor with higher torque or from a rear engine to a front engine, without changing the control system.

A lot has also happened in the area of displays. In addition to various LCD displays, control is now also possible via a modern LED control panel reduced to the essentials. On the motor side, you can choose between 40-60 Nm of torque and between chain or belt drives, depending on the application.

With this fully integrated GRAVELEC system, the customer is completely free in design. Optionally, the customer can also use an existing standard downtube from Ansmann. 3D data is provided to integrate the drive components into the wheel design.

The GRAVELEC system is now available and has been successfully presented at the first trade fairs.
