Sustainability and innovation in rural areas: Franziska Brantner visits ANSMANN
During Franziska Brantner's visit to Assamstadt, we showed how ANSMANN combines innovation, sustainability and regional responsibility.

We were able to welcome Franziska Brantner, Federal Chair of Alliance 90/The Greens, together with state parliament candidate Gerd Bayer to our headquarters in Assamstadt. The exchange focused on sustainable business, technological innovations and our responsibility as a medium-sized company in rural areas.
Innovation from SMEs — for over 35 years
For more than 35 years, we have been developing solutions for mobile energy — with a particular focus on battery and charging technology. With over 28 million processed cells and seven international subsidiaries, we show that innovation and growth are also successfully possible outside urban centers.
A central topic during the discussion was our innovation management. In research and development, we work closely with universities and research institutes. In the area of medical technology, we are currently developing a battery pack for a children's heart pump — a project that combines technological excellence and social responsibility.
Sustainability as an integral part of our strategy
For us, sustainability is not a trend, but a clear claim. At our site in Assamstadt, we already generate around 63 percent of our electricity requirements from renewable energy sources. In addition, our own geothermal plant supplies around 40 percent of our company building with hot water for heating.
We also consistently focus on saving resources when it comes to packaging: We have downsized all packaging and completely converted to cardboard in order to further reduce material consumption and CO₂ emissions.
Responsibility for the region and young talent
We were particularly pleased with the interest in our role as an employer and training company in rural areas. The direct exchange with our trainees and young employees made it clear how important attractive local prospects are. Together with partners such as DHBW Mosbach, we are creating qualified training and jobs with a future.
The “TOP 100 Innovator” award confirms our claim to combine technological innovation with regional responsibility.
Dialogue for a sustainable future
The visit once again showed how important an open dialogue between business and politics is. Only together can we ensure sustainable development, innovative strength and responsible growth in rural areas in the long term — a path that we consistently pursue at ANSMANN.
