Safety
When a battery pack is designed, the absolute first parameter that is taken into consideration is the Safety of the pack.
The parameters which would be considered are as follows:
- Potentials for electrical short circuits.
- Routing of wire leads
- Routing of connecting straps
- Insulation
- Adhesives
- The use of Current limiting devices
- The use of Re-settable and Non Re-settable Safety components
- Strategic placements of safety components for monitoring temperature.
- The use of the proper current carrying materials/specs.
Similar to the Safety parameters, ANSMANN also focuses on the performance requirements with respect to the Battery pack design. These performance requirements provide ANSMANN with a proposed specification from the Customer’s point of view for which ANSMANN Engineering Team review and determine if the requirements can be achieved with the proper implementation of safety within the battery pack.
